Program Overview

The Certificate Program in Web Technology Essentials consists of three credit courses designed to provide both entry-level technicians and project team professionals with a comprehensive survey of the concepts and technologies involved in Internet development. Each course provides fundamental terms, concepts, and the basic programming skills necessary to design and deploy Internet solutions for common business goals and Web projects.

Specifically, participants will :

Gain an understanding of how to approach the design of a Web site and organization of site content.
  Learn the fundamental constructs that unite all scripting languages, with a focus on the application of JavaScript for the creation of interactive Web documents.
  Master relational database design skills and explore using XML as an alternate data storage technology.
  Learn how to apply Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and XSL to the formatting and design of Web pages.
  Learn how to integrate data in a Web site using server-side programming technologies.
